Summer Vacations Scheme - Legal

Are the hands of time holding us back? Does breaking away from tradition set us free? When the right people with the right skills work together, is there any limit to what we can achieve?

What you need

This three to six-week placement will give you an insight into what a career at Deloitte could mean for you. Immerse yourself in our business and discover your interests and motivations. Impress us and you could end up with a permanent role when you graduate.

Entry Requirements

Our requirements vary for a few specialist roles and therefore before you apply we recommend that you review the specific academic requirements on the vacancy job description.

Application Deadline

Applications for our Summer Vacation Scheme will close on a rolling basis when we have enough applications. We therefore advise that you apply as soon as possible so that you don’t miss out on securing a role.

We close our vacancies on a rolling basis as roles are filled. We encourage you to submit your full application as soon as possible.

Requirements & Qualifications

You will need to have obtained or be studying towards a 2:1 in a law degree, or commendation in Graduate Diploma of Law (GDL) or Common Professional Examination (CPE) qualification. You will also have achieved at least 104 UCAS points (260 UCAS points pre 2017) for your A levels (or equivalent), a grade 4 (C) in English language and a grade 4 (C) in Maths in your GCSEs (or equivalent).

If you join the Summer Vacation Scheme you will get stuck in straight away, understanding and helping to solve some of our clients’ most complex problems. This is a chance for you to live the life of a Deloitte Legal graduate, and the opportunity to apply for a Training Contract for the following year. During the scheme you will rotate between two different Practice Areas from:

  • Corporate and Commercial Law
  • Tax Litigation , Advisory and Settlements
  • Legal Entity Management
  • Employment Law
  • Employee Rewards and Incentives
  • Global Employer Immigration Services

Your professional experience

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Flexible enough to thrive in a non-traditional legal environment and team structure and thrive within a non-traditional delivery model
  • Able to be a great team player across multiple teams, including multidisciplinary teams
  • Always looking for innovative and impactful ways to improve the way in which services are delivered    
  • You’ll get to work with and learn from some of the most talented and experienced professionals in the industry. You have a unique opportunity to get an insight into Deloitte Legal, how we operate and how we provide legal services.

You’ll pair up with a buddy and split your time working across two practice areas, as well as taking part in workshops and skills sessions. The programme finishes with a series of interviews and a final presentation, which gives you a great opportunity to impress us before applying for a Training Contract after university.
