Entry Requirements

Our requirements vary for a few specialist roles and therefore before you apply we recommend that you review the specific academic requirements on the vacancy job description.

Application Deadline

Applications for our Summer Vacation Scheme will close on a rolling basis when we have enough applications. We therefore advise that you apply as soon as possible so that you don’t miss out on securing a role.

We close our vacancies on a rolling basis as roles are filled. We encourage you to submit your full application as soon as possible.

Requirements & Qualifications

You will need to be in your penultimate year at university studying towards at least a 2:1 in any degree discipline and due to graduate by September 2022, as well as achieved at least 104 UCAS points (260 UCAS points pre-2017) for your A levels (or equivalent), and at least a grade 4 (C) in English language and at least a grade 5 (B) in Maths in your GCSEs (or equivalent).

  • Private: Want to work with some of the UK’s most dynamic privately owned companies in a role that goes beyond auditing? Private gives you the unique opportunity to work directly with company owners across all aspects of their business - supporting them on their journey to becoming a listed company. .
  • Public: Within Public Audit, working on controls-based auditing offers the intellectual challenge of understanding a client’s business. You’ll develop relationships far beyond the main finance team, providing valuable insights to the company’s Board of Directors and leadership teams. All making for a more interesting and rewarding experience. Our Public Audit clients include some of the largest and most successful companies listed in the UK or US.
  • Financial Services: Specialise in the financial services industry, working with a diverse range of clients from key players to the industry’s rising stars. With digital transformation top of the agenda, you’ll go beyond providing audit and assurance, to finding new ways for clients to improve how they work. In London, you can specialise in Insurance, Banking or Investment Management. 
  • Pensions Audit Centre of Excellence: The Pensions Audit Centre of Excellence (PACE) sits within Financial Services and works directly with clients on a large portfolio of pension scheme audits. PACE also supports audit teams throughout the UK firm in delivering pension asset testing and providing support on some of the firm’s most prestigious UK and multinational audit clients. 
  • Analytics and Modelling: The Analytics & Modelling team sits within Assurance and works with some of the world’s most recognizable names. Just about every business gathers and holds data in digital form, files or databases. This data goes into models, which could be in a variety of formats. Analytics are then produced by working with these data models to make key decisions, to monitor the business and for presentations across the industry including to customers and regulators. Our team helps clients with their data, models and analytics for their business. We can produce them, give assurance over what has been produced by clients themselves, search for risks and issues within large datasets or we can give advice and training on how they can improve.

Your professional experience

As a Summer Vacation Scheme student in Audit & Assurance you’ll get to work with and learn from some of the most talented and experienced professionals in the industry. You will have the opportunity to work with clients to develop innovative audit strategies, working on internal and external audits, accounting advisory and regulation assurance and advisory. You can expect early responsibility and training to provide you with building your knowledge of Audit & Assurance.

You will have the opportunity to work with clients and develop your technical skills. Working with the A&M team will allow you to build on your Excel skills as well as VBA, SQL and Tableau.
