Storing, using, and interpreting data presents complex and challenging issues for our clients. We’re here to help them understand how they can improve their business performance through the management and use of their data. Whether it is financial, operational, commercial, or regulatory information, we are able to provide insight, add value, and manage risks for our clients.

There is no typical Data Risk & Analytics client or project. This means that we work with a huge variety of companies, from banks, insurers, and other major financial institutions, to high-street businesses, government institutions, and other global corporations.

Our teams are a mix of highly skilled technical people (such as data scientists, mathematicians, developers, and academics), non-technical specialists who have a deep industry knowledge (such as ex-traders or industry leads), and business and project management analysts – but don’t worry, you don’t need to be an expert at this stage!

This inter-disciplinary model mean that we are able to deliver complex models and solutions, but also respond to the needs of specialised proposals. We’ll call in additional experts where necessary too. Which means you’re likely to meet and work with all kinds of inspiring, deeply knowledgeable people, throughout your career.

Technology & Digital Risk (TDR): Do you want to know how large organisations operate, their key business and financial processes whilst also understanding the technology that underpins them? Do you want to help our clients manage the risks associated with technology and digital disruption? The work you do will give you a highly sought after set of skills that will allow you to ‘speak technology’ but in a way that the business can understand.

Ultimately, our team help organisations to manage technology and digital risk, allowing them to make intelligent risk-based decisions over financial reporting, business processes, technology and digital operations.

One of the great things about TDR is that we have a varied range of projects which will allow you to work on an assortment of projects rather than just one specific thing. As you progress in your career you’ll have the opportunity to specialise more, once you’ve decided what you most enjoy.

Our projects include IT Auditing, Analytics and Data Analysis, Digital Risk, Programme Assurance, Payment and Operational Resilience, Governance, Risk and Compliance… and much more!

You don’t need to be a technical expert to join our team and would be supported throughout by the engagement team you would be working with. Further we offer lots of training and qualifications once you join as a graduate, including the ACA (Chartered Accountancy Qualification) alongside more technical certifications like CISA, PRINCE2 etc.

Your professional experience

Technology and digital transformation is at the core of business strategy, enabling organisations to exploit competitive advantages and keep pace with market disruptors. As dependency on technology increases so does technology and digital risk, unless it is adequately managed.

The team is divided into a two sector focus, as detailed below:

  • In TDR CPS (Corporate and Public Sector), we serve clients ranging from public bodies, such as governmental departments, to businesses operating within the private sector including but not limited to Telecommunications & Media, Life Sciences, Oil & Gas and Retail. Our work is driven by our clients’ need for assistance with, or assurance over, the complex and shifting nature of IT risks arising throughout their business operations.
  • In TDR FS (Financial Services), our primary focus is to help our clients manage their various technology risks, to take advantage of the benefits of innovative new technology, support their digital transformation and better manage their legacy technology through risk intelligent solutions, assurance, advisory and managed services. Our clients include the banking, insurance and investment management sectors.

There are lots of different types of work we do across both sectors, which will allow you to explore lots of areas:

  • IT External Audit: We work with the Audit part of our firm to understand the risks that technology poses to the processing of business transactions and the production of the financial statements. You’ll learn the core of how businesses work and their key processes which will give you a great baseline for all other advisory work we do across the team. We also offer all students the chance to take the ACA (Chartered Accountancy qualification) which helps with this too.
  • IT Internal Audit: As subject matter advisors or as part of outsourced / co-sourced Internal Audit functions, we help organisations evaluate and address risks related to information technology including applications, systems, networks and infrastructure.
  • Third Party Assurance: We help organisations with addressing regulator and marketplace demand to manage third-party risk through our third-party readiness and attestation services.
  • Analytics: We help organisations with exploring data to discover and analyse patterns, identify anomalies, profile, and reveal relationships from large sets of client data.
  • Digital Risk: We help organisations take advantage of the benefits of innovative new technology, support their digital transformation and better manage their legacy technology through risk intelligent solutions, advisory and managed services.
  • Program/Project Review: We help organisations review their technology project and program portfolio and provide senior stakeholders with an accurate, independent view on program status and progress.
  • Payments: The payments market across the globe is undergoing significant disruption and the current dominance of traditional financial institutions has come under threat due to changing consumer preferences, regulatory and industry interventions and technology-enabled intervention. Our team helps manage the risks associated with these changes and enables organisations to take advantage of new opportunities presented.
  • Governance, Risk and Compliance: We help organisations assess, design and implement GRC systems for a broad range of risk areas including IT Risk, resilience, compliance, operational risk, third party risk management and Enterprise Risk Management.
  • We work with a broad range of clients, both private and public sector. From leading global financial services firms to the largest multi-national corporate businesses such as Telecoms providers, major Manufacturers, Retailers and Energy providers across the FTSE100 and FTSE250.
