Your professional experience

You will support top tier financial institutions, from retail banks to insurers and asset managers to investment banks. As a team, we often work with Chief Risk Officers, Chief Compliance Officers and Chief Operating Officers, to deliver risk management capabilities that are tailored to the individual characteristics of the client and the risk sophistication of the Board of Directors. We work across a range of functions within Financial Services firms from Front Office teams, Compliance departments, Senior Management and the Board of Directors.

An important part of your personal development is ensuring we give you the opportunity to complete both internal and external training. The completion of training will help both your technical and soft skills. You will sit exams with the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) – Level 4 UK Regulation and Professional Integrity and Level 6 Regulation and Compliance – to attain relevant technical knowledge for your role with us.   • Extended Enterprise Risk Management (EERM):You’ll help clients manage the risks associated with their vital third party relationships, from customers and suppliers, to distributors, licensees and franchisees. Working with senior people in many different businesses, you’ll deliver tangible solutions that help them maintain brand integrity and boost revenue.
  • Finance, Operations and Support: You will work with a broad range of corporate and public sector organisations. Our clients are diverse in scale, industry and location, with each providing new insights into Finance and wider business issues. Projects vary from a few weeks to several months (and occasionally years!).  You will develop the skills to address issues across all elements of Finance functions, ranging from helping clients design an effective Finance operating model, adopt digital Finance solutions, deliver best in class Finance processes, prepare insightful management reporting, implement new Financial Reporting Standards, support mergers and acquisitions, achieve a faster monthly close or improve working capital.
  • Risk & Regulation:(Risk and Capital Management & Financial Risk Measurement) In this market leading team, you’ll support top tier financial institutions in managing change. You’ll work with other Deloitte teams, across the world, and with the most senior level client people, helping them achieve the right balance between meeting regulatory requirements and running a commercially successful business.
  • Strategic Regulatory and Operations Risk (SRO): You’ll work with a hugely diverse list of clients, helping them manage the challenges they face every day, relating to risk, compliance, and effective controls. You’ll provide confidence and insights on everything from the sustainability of their business to the technology they use. Helping to drive better business performance.

Your professional experience

As a graduate within Risk Advisory you will have the opportunity to work with one of the above teams to support them and develop your skills in:

  • Carrying out Information and security risk management
  • Helping clients to understand and enhance their application and infrastructure security
  • Performing information security reviews and alerting clients to risks
  • Using data analysis to save costs or enhance revenue

Your opportunity

We help clients to realise strategic sustainability opportunities and manage related business risks. We provide strategic advisory services on responsible business, climate and sustainable finance strategy, governance, risk management, communications and reporting.

We work with a range of clients across a number of different industries – including consumer products, energy and resources, financial services, real estate, and pharmaceuticals. Most recently we have: helped clients develop a strategic response to climate change and build organisational resilience; assisted consumer product companies with assessing sustainable supply chain risks; and helped implement sustainable finance strategies. We also support organisations in integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) within their wider risk framework, and implement evolving industry sustainability frameworks and standards.

Your professional experience

As a graduate within Sustainability you will have the opportunity to work with our team and specialise in areas such as climate change; inclusive business; sustainable finance; health, safety and wellbeing; and sustainable supply chain. EERM - Non Technical

EERM - Technology Specialism

You will need to have obtained or studying towards a 2:1 or above in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM) related degree discipline, and have graduated by September 2021 or have a 2:1 in any degree subject but working towards a Masters in a STEM related subject, as well as achieved at least 260 UCAS points for your A levels (or equivalent), and at least a grade 4 (C) in English language and a grade 5 (B) in Maths in your GCSEs (or equivalent).

Overall: You’ll learn to understand the different third party relationships an organisation may have across different industries, the drivers which affect behaviours of business partners, suppliers and customers and the operational processes and controls required by an organisation to effectively monitor its third party relationships.

EERM - Non-Technical:

You’ll help clients manage the risks associated with their vital third party relationships, from customers and suppliers, to distributors, licensees and franchisees.

EERM - Technology Specialism:

You will gain exposure to many aspects of compliance projects in the Software proposition from understanding the client environment and relationship with the supplier to performing detailed data analysis to understand the areas of supplier non-compliance.

Working with senior people in many different businesses, you’ll deliver tangible solutions that help them maintain brand integrity and boost revenue.

EERM - Non-Technical:

Your day-to-day tasks may include learning about third party relationships, understanding complex supply chain systems, performing risk assessments, undertaking detailed data analysis and working with senior colleagues to deliver work that makes a real difference.

EERM - Technology Specialism:

You will be working on behalf of the world’s leading software vendors to deliver software licence compliance inspections which helps our clients manage their extended enterprise risk. The premise of what we do is to conduct inspections across our clients’ customer base to provide our clients with transparency on how their Intellectual Property is being deployed, managed and used by their customers.

Understanding how we automate our work, what industries we are yet to tackle and finding innovative solutions for how we operate are some of the key things you will play a part in as we grow further into a world which is heavily influenced by artificial intelligence, block chain, robotics etc.

We also regularly form cross-service-line teams, which means you will often be working with experts across the firm, to solve complex client challenges.
