Our requirements vary for a few specialist roles and therefore before you apply we recommend that you review the specific academic requirements on the vacancy job description.

Requirements & Qualifications

You will need to have obtained or be studying towards at least a 2:1 in any degree discipline, and have graduated by September 2020, as well as achieved at least 104 UCAS points (260 UCAS points pre-2017) for your A levels (or equivalent), at least a grade 4 (C) in English language and at least a grade 6 (B) in Maths in your GCSEs (or equivalent).

Private Markets gives you the unique opportunity to work directly with company owners across all aspects of their business - supporting them on their journey to becoming a listed company.
  • Public: Within Public Audit, working on controls-based auditing offers the intellectual challenge of understanding a client’s business. You’ll develop relationships far beyond the main finance team, providing valuable insights to the company’s Board of Directors and leadership teams.   • Financial Services: Specialise in the insurance, banking and investments industries, working with a diverse range of clients from key players to the industry’s rising stars. With digital transformation top of the agenda, you’ll go beyond providing audit and assurance, to finding new ways for clients to improve how they work.
  • Assurance: Each of our Assurance teams offers fascinating engagements, inspirational colleagues, and every opportunity to explore, develop and grow. You’ll have the chance to work with financial services and corporate clients, partnering with some of the world’s most recognisable brands - providing finance leaders with assurance across all their accounting, regulatory and transaction needs.

One that balances core skills along with the specific requirements of each of our Audit & Assurance businesses and gives you the flexibility to work, learn and develop in a way that suits you and fits with the business’ requirements.

You’ll have the option to work towards a professional qualification. If joining Audit you’ll get the opportunity to study towards an ACA qualification with either ICAS or ICAEW. For those in Assurance, you’ll have the option to work towards a CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting with the possibility to further complete the CIMA Professional Qualification.Whether you join us in Audit or Assurance, you’ll be joining a programme designed to develop our future leaders and specialists.

Your opportunity

Our specialist team provides trustees and corporate clients with assurance on their controls and accounting systems. This includes both external and internal pension scheme audits, as well as a range of specialist assurance related services. Day to day work can be varied but can include interacting with pension scheme administrators and clients, third party investment managers and management/trustees of pension schemes, liaising with other firm specialists (actuarial, IT, valuations, complex financial instruments); performing audit procedures (such as investments testing) or controls testing.

As well as your professional qualification, you’ll join a programme designed to develop our future leaders and specialists. You’ll gain experience in a number of different areas of our business, and can potentially go on to work overseas or to experience life in one of our many specialist teams, such as Accounting Advisory or Analytics and Modelling. You’ll be encouraged to continue learning throughout your career

As a Graduate in Pensions Audit you will have the opportunity to work with clients and to develop innovative audit strategies, working on external audits for some of the UK’s largest companies and their associated pension schemes.

The Pensions Audit Centre of Excellence (PACE) sits within the Financial Services service line within Deloitte UK and works directly with clients on a large portfolio of pension scheme audits. PACE also supports audit teams throughout the UK firm in delivering pension asset testing and providing support on some of the firm’s most prestigious UK and multinational audit clients.

You will receive industry leading training with a focus on investments testing, and your role will include:

  • Auditing pension schemes including testing investments, pension contributions and benefit payments;
  • Using engagement management software to document audit testing;
  • Communicating with clients and their external service organisations;
  • Working within a dynamic team, reporting to audit managers and partners, and collaborating with specialists.
