Requirements & Qualifications

You will need to have obtained or be studying towards at least 260 UCAS points (pre 2017 A level, or equivalent, results) or at least 104 UCAS points (2018 A level, or equivalent, results) and be available to join us in September 2020 and have you must have achieved at least a grade 4 (C) in English language and at least a grade 6 (B) in Maths in your GCSEs.

Forensic

Within Forensic Technology and Financial Crime, you’ll use your skills to combat fraud, bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, international sanctions, and intellectual property disputes.

Your professional experience

Financial Crime sits within Deloitte's growing Forensic team, which is dedicated to assisting clients to sustainably enhance how they manage financial crime risks, and to help them navigate key challenges. As part of the Financial Crime team, your role would involve working on Anti-Money Laundering, Trade and Economic Sanctions, Fraud, Anti-Bribery and Corruption matters. You will often work with multi-disciplinary teams, and at times on overseas assignments. Activities will include:

  • Supporting clients to assess and enhance their financial crime systems and controls
  • Supporting clients to conduct risk assessments to assess their exposure to financial crime risk
  • Drafting financial crime compliance policy or procedures documents
  • Reviewing the processes and controls to facilitate improvements
  • Supporting development of target operating models and organisational designs to meet the regulatory changes in financial crime
  • Assisting in mobilising and implementing regulatory /organisational change programmes

Transaction Services

These teams provide both due diligence and post deal advisory services across a range of areas (i.e., Integrations, separations, operations, performance improvement, and technology) on transactions. Which means you’ll be helping clients who are planning to buy, sell or take-over businesses to assist with the execution of the deal. These are often large global deals with high profile clients.

Your professional experience

As a member of our Transaction Services team, you will help clients who are planning to buy, sell or take-over businesses, to assess the deal. You’ll work on some of the largest and most complex acquisitions and joint ventures in the UK. Gaining experience across all sorts of industries, you’ll combine market-leading approaches with cutting-edge M&A technologies to deliver projects for high profile, often commercially sensitive deals. You will: 

  • Develop an understanding of the target business and it’s drivers, interpreting information memoranda, business plans and publicly available information on the target business
  • Review and evaluate important data projections and report on key issues identified
  • Participate in various marketing initiatives and practice development activities

As a BrightStart within Transaction Services you will have the opportunity to study for the ACA.

Restructuring Services

Help clients stabilise and rejuvenate businesses that are in crisis. This might mean improving their performance, planning and delivering a turnaround strategy, financial restructuring or, in some cases, acting as administrators when insolvency is the best solution.

Your professional experience

As a member of the Restructuring Services team, you’ll have the opportunity to work with some of the largest and most influential clients both in the UK and abroad, and across a broad range of industries. You will help management to manage crisis, maximise return to creditors, and limit exposure to risk and bad debt. Work may be on behalf of the Corporate (e.g. the directors) or Creditor (e.g. a bank), and common activities may include:

  • Making and receiving payments for the company
  • Corresponding with employees, HMRC, landlords and suppliers
  • Reporting on the company and directors
  • Working closely with Deloitte Tax and lawyers
